Hosted by China Association for Standardization (CAS), the 18th China Standardization Forum was held on October 21 in Foshan, Guangdong province, South China.

Jointly organized by the Foshan Shunde Product Quality Association, Kecan Group, Media Group and China Lesso, the forum is a significant academic event in the field of standardization in China. This year’s theme is “Implementing outline for standardized development, promoting high-quality development”. The event is aimed at discussing the recently released national outline for standardized development and share latest standardization practices to facilitate high-quality development.

Renowned overseas and domestic savants, researchers, standardizers and enterprise representatives gathered in Foshan or attended the forum virtually. Several leading standardization experts shared latest achievements and practices concerning topics like low-carbon, digital economy, intellectual property, development of association standards.

Also, attendees discussed how to give full play to the fundamental, strategic and guiding role of standardization, in order to promote the comprehensive high-quality development of China.

With prior attention paid to standardization, Foshan has become a vital manufacturing base for China and the world. Meanwhile, stringent standard has become a new business card of Foshan’s manufacturing industry. Companies in Foshan have participated in the development and revision of more than 2,400 international, national, sectoral and local standards, said Xu Guo, Vice Major of Foshan.
