China holds the secretariat of IEC/TC 107
China Standardization 2026-06-22

IEC has recently approved the establishment of the secretariat of IEC/TC 107, Process management for avionics, in China, which is the first IEC secretariat held by China in the aviation sector.

IEC/TC 107 is IEC’s sole technical committee in the aviation field, dedicated to the development of international standards for process management of avionics systems and equipment, covering commercial, civil, and military aviation electronics. To date, IEC/TC 107 has developed a number of international standards in areas such as avionics component management, single-event effects on avionics equipment, and lead-free soldering processes. These standards not only provide systematic guidance for enhancing the quality and reliability of avionics equipment, but also serve as critical technical specifications and quality assurance benchmarks for the global avionics industry.

It is a new starting point for China to further engage in international standardization work for avionics process management. It will facilitate the effective alignment of China’s advanced domestic technological achievements with international standards. China looks forward to working with all member countries to make further contributions to international standardization in this field.
