Thanks to emerging technologies, intelligent city turns out to be a materialized sci-fi dream, where people can have a green, sustainable and convenient lifestyle.
ISO 37106:2021, Sustainable cities and communities - Guidance on establishing smart city operating models for sustainable communities, has been published recently. The standard offers guidance for leaders to build an open, collaborative, citizen-centric and digitally-enabled operating model for their city that puts its vision for a sustainable future into operation. And the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City serves as the single city case embodied in ISO 37106:2021.
Located in North China, the Eco-City is a joint practice of intelligent city performed by China and Singapore. Learning from Singapore's excellent experiences in establishing eco-friendly and resource-saving cities, China deployed many policies in the pilot area to try out cycling economy, non-waste city and high-tech projects such as 5G application.
The typical case of future trend - eco-friendly and intelligent cities - will help governors speed up the implementation of the SDGs. Its reproducible experiment also reveals a happier and more sustainable lifestyle for all humans.
